Question of the Week

Describe three teeny-tiny "downers" that annoy you.

Downers are very personal. They are the little aggravations of life, not the big ones. Losing your wallet or getting in an accident of some sort is not a teeny-tiny downer. A teeny-tiny downer is that little ball of hand lotion that forms at the spout of a bottle of hand lotion and comes out in a hard blob when you squirt it into your hands.

I know I buy the right size flip-flops because they fit my feet just perfectly. But somehow, people who are walking behind me manage to step on the heel-portion of my sandal and trip me up. This happens far too often for words. Although it's teeny, it truly aggravates me.

Another downer is when they forget to give you straws or plastic ware in the drive-thru. Then what? You almost have to drive around again, get in the long line you just exited, and ask for the missing items. This may sound tiny to you, but to me, it's huge.

Ok, this one IS personal. I have a cabinet under my sink, right next to my toilet.  I keep cleaning supplies in it because the storage space is nice and tall--great for spray bottles and bulk items. The other cabinet in my bathroom is wider and accommodates things like towels and washcloths that can be folded to custom fit that space. I also keep the toilet paper there; it's the only storage space left for this precious commodity. If ever the occupant runs out of TP while the job is in progress, they have to get up and walk over to the cabinet to get more paper and... well, let's just say... finish. This situation has caught me in it's trap a time or two and I guess I need to find a more convenient place to hide a few rolls. Compared to running out completely, this is teeny-tiny.

In the scope of things that get you down, there are definitely more aggravating situations to face. How about you?

I can't tolerate people chewing and smacking gum with their mouths grinding away at it as if they are cows chewing cud. Another annoyance is when I hear some unidentified person in church clipping his fingernails. Perhaps one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone misuses the English language. For example, "That means a lot to Susie and I" is incorrect (s/b "Susie and me"), but very intelligent people say stuff like that all the time, perhaps trying to sound more intelligent. It's all I can do to keep from correcting them. NOTE: If anybody comes to class next week purposefully exhibiting some of the aforementioned behaviors, I will persuade Mrs. Larson to deduct some points!

I can think of one, right off the bat. It is turning on my computer, clicking too fast, which makes the brain of the computer confused. Now nothing works, and I have to shut down the computer, and start all over - a time waster!!!!

Ahh yes,Mary, the mighty time saver of the present, constantly giving causing us unnecessary stress! Can't live with 'um, can't live without 'um!

I am sure I have misuses the English language around you as well, Mrs. Brooks. But being the merciful, kind person that you are, you have already forgiven me. I am one that appreciates your gift!

I like to call them pet peeves. I have to say, my biggest pet peeve of all would be people standing directly behind me, or just getting in my personal space period. It irritates the freaking crap out of me. And my friends take great pleasure in doing that just to annoy me. I'd have to say the my second pet peeve would be chat-speak. May I ask why it's necessary to substitute a three letter word such as 'and' with a symbol? Or 'you' or 'are'. It's annoying, why bother even taking English your entire school life if by high school it's going to deteriorate into chat speak.
My last pet peeve would be people touching my things. I hate it when people don't respect my things. Those are the things that can drive me to insanity and back.

Chat speak? Wow! I forgot about that one, Alaina. It bugs the c%#p out of me too. (I would use the word too, but for some of your parents, me using this word might be one of their annoyances. I actually considered doing a blog on it's varied meanings. Sometimes it's the ONLY word that fits.)

Like, my first personal pet peeve is people talking when I'm, like, trying to study. This happens, like, quite often at my house especially when, like, my sister is in, like, one of her talkative moods. It, like, takes all of my will power to, like, keep from yelling ,"SHADAAP!!" So, like, my second personal annoyance is, like, people who, like, blast rap out of their car at, like, full blast, like yesterday when this lady in the car had it cranked up, like, all the way and was, like, "singing" along (not very well I might add). My third pet peeve has to be, like, when people use the word "like" , like, fifty times in one paragraph like in this post.

hmm i think i'm going to be serious on this one. no llamas or obscure references to my odd and incredulous humor.

but one thing that really makes me mad is when girls (or guys) go around calling each other "hot". like "omg! he/she is SOOOO hot!". who came up with that? i mean, i used to call girls hot when i was younger because the majority of those around me did it as well; but as i get older i see no point in it.

secondly i'd say that something that almost or equally pisses me off is when people ask me if i'm in a bad mood. initially, i'm probably doing fine. i'm just sitting there, chillin', doing my own thing; and then some obnoxious person walks up to me and asks over and over again if i'm in a bad mood. if i don't answer because i'm going to just ignore them, they take that as me being in a bad mood. then they keep asking and calling me an "emo kid" (now that alone makes me mad). i only get angry with them if they don't leave it alone and if they keep asking and assuming something is wrong. like if they ask "is it your girlfriendddd" (in that annoying and obnoxious kindergarten voice). yes, this annoys me greatly.

there are so many more annoyances i deal with, but if i had to place one at #3 it would have to be gossip. actually now that i think about it, this one should go at #1, but then again, these shouldn't have to be in order. but when i hear girls talking about someone else and making it seem like this person is the bad guy, i get really pissed. girls are ruthless creatures who will stop at nothing to get their names cleared and someone else's messed up. that's not to say guys are innocent. no. see, guys have many things about them that get me going. but this is about gossip, let me keep going. it seems that it's mostly girls that are involved in this; but i've seen some guys who talk about other people. and yes, i know, i've done it too. but that only is because i'm human and i have delved into sin as well. but there has been many a time where i'm sitting somewhere with some girls or whatever and they start talking like crazy and start sharing secrets and whispering in another girl's ear and laughing and giggling and all this immature and nonsensical crap, and it REALLY irritates me.

well, that's 3. there are many many many more i have. ask me if you wanna know. hahaha.

Wow ok I don't even know where to start. The three things that annoy me.

One is probably people judging others. I can't stand this. I hate it when people look at someone and they are clothed in nothing but all black and have tattoo's. Then they will turn around and say wow that guy most be a real low life he probably sucks at everything he does.

Then you turn around and see that he has advanced honors in almost all of his school classes. and is grading over the high score.

Number two would probably be when I get dirt on the grip tape of my skate board. This annoys me to know end. I get so mad when my friends ride my skate board and it comes back with dirt and sand all over the grip tape.

Now lucky number 3. This is one that annoys me the most. Why do people blow there nose in a restraunt. When did manners fall off the face of the earth. I'm sorry but if you blow your nose in a restraunt you are more than likely a grose person or you just don't have manners at all.

This is kind of hard for me, because I don't get annoyed easily.

But the few that tick me off are people that call themselves "Joker fans" because they saw the movie, and go a pain their faces and put up on the internet... I just have to roll my eyes...

Secondly, people that talk too much or butt into other people's conversations. You could be talking to someone and some other person just walks up and acts like they have been there since the start of the conversation.

Lastly, Chat speak/"1337"(Leet or Elite)

I hate it when I go onto a forum and people type out"N E" for "Any".
I'm like, "IT'S A THREE LETTER WORD AND YOU TYPED OUT TWO LETTERS ALREADY!"
It really gets under my skin...

Yeah this question is an easy one! Three things that tick me off...

One, When I'm on the computer, or reading something, and when someone comes up behind me and reads over my shoulders, AHHHH thats ticks me off so easily.

Two, When people judge someone before they ever talked to them. Its not only something that ticks me...its also wrong. Just cause someone is wearing something , or saying, or reading something that doesn't look that great, and so on, does not mean they are a bad person! They could be unchristian-like, or they could be the nicest person in the world, it is not up to YOU to decide! Its up to God, up to God only.

Lastly, (and this is the one that bugs me the most) is when someone is saying something..and I have no idea what they are talking about, then they say "you know" and I say what? Then they say never mind, that drives me crazy!!!!! Also around the same idea as that, when they just don't finish their sentence. If I'm in a conversation with someone I MUST KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

For some reason those things tick me off..Now that everyone knows what makes me tick, yall better not use it againest me! Hahaha :D

3 small things that annoy me would be,when my ipod dies, when my amp picks up radio stations and makes annoying static noises and when people lable music or people.

This question made me think, even though I definitely have more than three "downers". But do not worry, I will not sit here, be selfish, and list them all for you :P.

First of all, I cannot stand it when someone acts like they are better than everyone else. Though not exactly "teeny-tiny", most of us consider this "the usual", even me. Still, it just fires me up that someone, especially a supposed Christian, has the nerve to shun you if you don't meet "their standard". For example, when a person who acts like this actually talks to me and expects an answer, I reply in the way that I think would best answer the statement or question. Sometimes, that just does not suit them, and thus, I receive a silent stare that seems to say, "Stupid! How dare you answer me like that! You just ruined my day." Though no words are spoken, the message sent through the expression hurts enough. I readily agree that I struggle with pride everyday. I have even looked down on others. Yes, pride is "normal" in a sense. But, this does not make it acceptable.

Secondly, I am absolutely annoyed when a website takes a long time to load, especially when I need to check something quickly before I leave for a meeting, church, or another destination. Accordingly, if I am enjoying a hilarious act or favorite song on Youtube, the interruption of the video stopping because it has to load more destroys my enjoyment. Since this problem will never be fixed, I must pray for more patience!

Last but not least, it bothers me when I cannot squash a little gnat that keeps flying around my head. You would think that they would be effortless to kill, but they disappear just when you hit where they were a minute ago.

Definitely, these three little annoyances can frustrate me quite easily.
Writing about them somewhat relieves me...sweet anger management :P

Since I've started working in an office with just women, I can't stand how they pick at each other. They are always putting each other down about their weight and how much they eat. I think that it is really noone elses buisness what someone weighs or what kinds of foods they eat.

Another one of my pet peeves is when I want to go somewhere and I'm told that I already go too much. That I should stay home more.

My last pet peeve would be when I'm trying to go to a horse show and I'm in a really big hurry and one of my horses is giving me a hard time loading in the trailer. It makes me really angry, because now I'm going to be LATE!!!

Ok...you don't have to think alot when answering this question. There are SO many things int he world that bother me, and there are even alot of things that my friends do that bother me.

First of all, one thing that annoys me to no end is when someone asks you a question about the relationship between two other people. If they wanted you to know about their life, then they would have told you already. They try to make it their own business, and then try to get me involved with it. Uh uh, no way am I gonna start that.

The second thing on my list of small pet peeves, is when you ask to borrow someone else's cell phone, because maybe you forgot yours, or it's too far away at the moment. Then when you get ahold of the phone and try to dial t he number you want to call, you discover that the number 3 key sticks, and that you cannot dial anyones number if it has a three in it. This would especially be a problem if the number was 333-3333.

The third things that bugs the mess out of me is when mumbling, someone then annoyedly says "Forget it!" when people naturally don't hear them. This makes me sooo mad. If you want to say something say it. When you say forget it, it usually means, either you didn't really want anyone to hear- so why say it in the first place- or it was something that doesn't make any difference to what was already being said_ so don't say it at all.

So, these are some of my pet peeves, but that's just me. I know everyone has their own.

There are a lot of little things that bug me. One is when my computer starts messing up for no reason. And of course it happens on the day that i have a lot of homwork.

The next thing is when someone tries to tell me what to do when they are probably a third of my age. And they dont even know what they are talking about.

The last thing is when people talk about me and then i hear about it from someone who had nothjing to do with it in the first place.

Thos are my little irritations.

ALRIGHT NUMBER 1 I would HAVE TO SAY one of my annoinces is when your standing in line almost ready to check out and some guy skips you and then he invites sombody else to skip you. And another would have to be when sombody judges you before they get to know you. And finnaly I hate it when sombody chews with their mouth open and food flys everywhere it's disgusting

1. I hate it when people bring up something and then just try to tell you to forget about it in mid sentence, that really bothers me. 2. I get really annoyed when people try to merge onto the highway at 35 miles an hour. even though i dont drive yet, it still really bugs me.
3. I cant stand when someone talks bad about someone they dont know just because of their looks or apperance. Even if you do know the person it still doent make it ok.

I can't tolerate forgetting even the littlest things during a trip. It drives me crazy the whole trip. Even if I get something right that I got help on, I need to know exactly how to do it. When I forget my bible at church, it bugs me the whole service.
