Just the other day, I needed to sign some important documents. Because of the nature of my business, signing them in person was a requirement. The office happened to be on the 18th floor of the
I noticed a commotion as I approached the elevators but somehow in all the confusion in the lobby, I wound up in the same elevator as presidential candidate Senator John McCain. There I was, face to face with him. Before I knew it, the doors were closing and secret service came pouncing towards us like a bunch of cats chasing catnip.
I must have been a sight, gawking at him with my jaw touching my chest. He broke the ice by shaking my hand and politely introducing himself. I gasped, knowing exactly who he was. When I told him my name, he smiled and said it was a pleasure to share the ride with me. He further expressed how the security slip-up might serve as a much needed break from the maddening crowds he was so accustomed to.
I nervously stared at the numeric display ascending from one floor to the next, when all of the sudden, the elevator gently came to a stop. We both looked at each other in surprise. I hesitatingly remarked, "Maybe your break will be a bit longer than you expected."
After security assured him via his ever-ringing cell phone we would be fine and the elevator would be repaired momentarily, he asked if sitting on the floor would make me feel uncomfortable. I responded by joining him. I debated in my mind for what seemed like forever, whether or not I should bring up the many issues I was concerned about. As soon I said, "Would you mind if I . . .” he interrupted and replied, "No, go ahead."
The rest is a blur. We must have sat there for a good thirty minutes when the elevator jerked and began its rise back to the top. As my floor approached, I quickly expressed my appreciation for the one-on-one moments we shared. Waving goodbye, I stepped out on to the 18th floor. The doors closed behind giving the Senator two and a half more minutes of solitude as he rode to the building's private top floor.
What did we talk about? That is for me to forever hide in my heart. But I learned so much about him in those few minutes.
Here's my opinion: John McCain is truly a hero. On the subject of negative campaigning, he could sling plenty of mud at his opponent but chooses not to at this time. Maybe what he faced as a POW explains his reaction to keep quiet in the face of persecution and ridicule. I know God honors this no matter who wins this race.
I feel deep concern for where this country is headed in light of the "change" that is promised by the other camp. Socialism is not only knocking at our front doors, it believes it can come in and put its feet on our furniture. Adopting this type of thinking, just because we as a nation are tired of taking care of ourselves, is not worth the consequences.
Voting correctly is one of the most powerful rights we physical possess, but praying fervently moves the heart of the Father. We need to ask God for mercy as a nation and cry out to Him to save us in our time of need. Praying is not the "least we can do," it is definitely the MOST we can do!
IMAGINE YOU GOT STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR WITH ONE OF THE TWO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES. WHO WAS IT AND WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?

Wow, I think I will have fun with this one...
I would want to get stuck in an elevator with John McCain. (I would be so miserable with Obama.)
I honor McCain very much, not only has he served our country, but he is a man that I would vote for and not have second guesses about. Sure he's not Reagan, but he is a whole lot better than an immigrant rallying his sheep-like followers by uttering the word "change".
However, I for some reason I got TRAPPED with Obama. I would ask him what change he refers to? Or why his little "O" symbol has the sun setting on the American Flag, or why his "New World Order" hand symbol is the same as Hitler's Nazi Salute? Don't believe me? I'm making a blog on it check it out...

Those would be my thoughts as soon as I got stuck on the elevator with either of the candidates.
I'm sure McCain is nice guy in person and, yes, he's a war hero, but he's one of the most wishy washy RINOs (Republicans in name only) in Washington. I would probably end up asking him why he's so weak on immigration and why he's always borrowing ideas from the comucrats.
Speaking of comucrats, I would DEFINITELY ask Obama what gives him the right to take peoples' well earned money and give it to bums. And when he was done stuttering his way through that, I would ask him to explane why the American people should vote for him even though he was associated with Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, ACORN, a slum lord, and a marxist Kenyan (with whom Obama campained for with your tax payer dollers).
Personaly, I think McCain is better than Obama, but that's like comparing uncooked brocoli to spinach; one tastes less like you-know-what than the other one.
If i got stuck in an elevator, I would hope it would be with John Mccain. Obama is someone I hope to never have to be around or meet! but if I did get stuck with him I probably wouldn't say a word.I would have a chance to ask Mccain how it was to go through the vietnam. I hope to get to meet him sometime in the futur.

McCain's war experiences would be at the top of my list as well. We would all be shocked by what he went through yet he stayed true to our national security.

Keep in mind I did it all in the span of a few minutes. I will clean up, and add more things to it latter.
I would rather not get stuck in an elevator with either candidate, because I am not a big politics person. Of course, I want the President of the United States to be someone who respects and fears God, and is a Christian.
The better of the two men would have to be John McCain. So, I would rather be stuck in an elevator with John McCain. I would want to know how his family deals with the election. I would want to know about him, not about what he does. Everyone else in the world knows that; it's all over the television.
Also another reason I would not like to be stuck in an elevator with either person: I do not like to be stuck in elevators.
If I got stuck with any of them it would have to John Mccain because I would have to ask him a ton of things about politics
Truthfully I dont know much about either candidates. I usually dont watch all that stuff on t.v..or even know much at all by the end of the whole thing!
But from what I do know..McCain seems like the best choice. If I got put in the elevator with McCain I probably wouldnt say much..Since I really dont know him all that well :P
Also I would probably ask what is his feelings towards church related things. I really dunno :S

i would ask him things about his past life and i would really like to know about what happened to him during the war he fought in. i agree with kyle also, the whole "new change" with obama is a bunch of bologna, he has no good change and absolutely no hope in him at all these people are so BILNDED!! obama has no benefit at all!!! he just has lies!!! people need to open their eyes and see that obama isn't our savior, but in the end God has it all planned and knows whats all gonna happen.

Claustrophobia would certainly hinder an opportunity like that, but I agree with you; we certainly know how he feels concerning the nations issues. It would be nice to get to know him on a casual basis.

I wonder where he goes to church? What is his favorite scripture or story in the Bible? Does he pray before making important decisions? These are important issues.
Matt, it's interesting that you brought up the savior factor. If you don't know One, then you'll end up finding one that is false. That is what happened when Moses went up the mountain and met face to face with God. While he was gone, the people needed a something to worship so they created an idol. Our country is in for a rude awakening when they find out their so called "savior" has no power to save!

well, i just got back from vacation, and man, i needed that vacation.
anyways, if i could get stuck in an elevator with either of the presidential candidates, it would be Obama. why? because everyone else has chosen McCain, that and it'd be sorta funny to me. i wouldn't ask him anything about his opinions on the issues or what his whole campaign means. i'd ask him inane, meaningless questions about his love life, favorite food, preferred toilet paper, and favorite breed of llama. i'm sure he will soon realize that i'm making fun of him.
In all honesty, if I got stuck in an elevator with either of them, nothing to big would happen. I'm not much of a talker with people I don't know well. That and I'm just not a big fan of politics in general. They may have worked in the past, but now a days ALL I see of the presidential candidates are mudslinging, insert name here approves of this message type things. I don't want to vote for someone who has to better his chances by hindering the others. If I absolutely HAD to vote, I'd vote McCain. Because I've never really liked any of the democratic views, nor do I like that Obama is bashing Bush and McCain. Shouldn't we show respect for the former president? What kind of message are you giving to the people who follow you if you're disrespecting a former leader, a position you hope to attain yourself. That it's okay not to listen to authority if you think they're stupid? Gosh, I know for a fact that a mindset like that goes against the Bible. A follower of God is supposed to listen to authority, even if they don't agree with it, as long as that authority figure isn't going against Gods word. God is the one who PUTS those figures IN authority. So disrespecting them is disrespecting God. :\ So if I were to get stuck in an elevator with McCain(who I'd rather over Obama. I don't hate him, I just don't really agree with him.) I'd wish him luck with the presidential campaign, and tell him my family is praying for him. Than be on my way. This is just my opinion though.

If I could vote, I would definitely cast my ballot for McCain, and I think it would be more pleasant to be stuck in an elevator with him (and Sarah Pailin? OH YEAH!). Plus, I am deathly afraid of Obama. But, I would like to get stuck in an elevator with him too (and hopefully a trustworthy person...you cannot trust Obama) so I could confront him on some issues and talk about my experience to the American public. Even though people are blinded, I could still try to get the truth out and hope that someone hears. Moreover, I could be a light for Christ...even if he doesn't believe, he cannot deny to the ultimate Judge that he never heard the gospel! God's words are never of little effect--they have a purpose.
My opinion: Though McCain is not the best Republican ever, he is a much better choice than Obama, especially since he has Pailin. The election of Obama only means trouble! How can a man who is questionably not a true American citizen, who turns his back to our flag during the playing of the National Anthem (though tries to sing), who supports the murder of human embryos, who supports gay marriage, who wishes to join with our "Middle Eastern Brethern", who talks of an economy that is practically Socialist/Communist, who is afraid of "offending" other countries, who has an aunt in a slum in Boston despite of his millions of dollars, who simply talks of CHANGE but does not go into detail, who talks of changing the Constitution (our basis!), and who rouses crowds with just his voice and color, be our President? Is he truly devoted to our country? I don't think so!!!

I agree with you wholeheartedly. We always reap what we sow and being critical of our president will most assuredly criticism back to the one dishing it out.
Let's put the shoe on the other foot. Which one of the two candidates would want to get stuck in an elevator with me?! Which one is willing to get a piece of my mind? Which one is willing to hear of the ultimate Sacrifice? Which one could stomach a diatribe on the sanctity of human life? Which one could put himself in the mind of his own mother if she had "chosen," then vicariously feel the emotional and physical turmoil of himself as an unborn fetus? Which one is willing to take the hand of the ghost of Christmas future to view the consequences of his actions in the present? Which one is man enough to strip away layers of masks and allow his heart to be touched and changed by the One who is greater than any program or policy change? There's a good chance I will be unaccompanied on my elevator ride.
I would choose to be stuck in an elevator with Barack Obama. I would ask him what change he is going for. Is it a change for the good or for the worse? I would ask him why he would talk about Christians so bad? Why does he hate Chrtistians?

Loyalty is definitely a contrast between these two men. In fact, the difference is almost extreme. The values of the American public have truly changed and we are about to see what they are crying out for in a couple of days.
