Can you believe it? Christmas is only a few weeks away!!!
I started my Christmas shopping a few months ago so I feel like I am ahead of the game. This year, I tried a different gift strategy with my kids. When it came to picking out their gifts, I took them shopping with me. They should be 100% pleased with what is under the tree this year and just in case they change their minds on any of the items before I wrap them, they have the opportunity to exchange BEFORE Christmas. The anticipation seems greater, even though both of them know what they are getting. The torment of having the stuff somewhere in the house and not being able to touch any of it is killing them.
My kids are asking me for my list and it's hard to think of ideas on demand. All year long, I come across great gift ideas for myself but for some reason, I'm at a loss. Most of the things I want are either too expensive or they are items I would like to pick out myself. Maybe I should use my new gift strategy on myself!
Eventually, I'll come up with a list of well-deserved items. When my kids ask their Dad to take them Christmas shopping for me, they'll be well-informed little shoppers, brainwashed by me, to spend lots of Daddy's hard-earned money.
But what makes me think I should get everything my little heart desires? Well, for the most part, I have been a good girl. I haven't been naughty very much this year and truly thought of others before myself. Basically, I've been perfect in every way. Don't you think I should get everything on my list?
How about you? Please explain why you think YOU should be spoiled this year . . . everything on your list, wrapped and under the tree.

What I want for Christmas my parents can't give me, but Tim Tebow can. I don't want to meet him, get his autograph, or even see him play. I just want him to do one simple thing: lose. I want Timmy Tebow to go down in flames Saturday so that the Alabama Crimson Tide can win the SEC Championship. I deserve the favor for two reasons only. 1) For an entire month, I have had to deal with random people, friends, even Sunday School teachers brag to my face that Florida is going to whoop Alabama's behind, and I'm sick of their obnoxiousness. 2) My mother has a piece of paper autographed by "Superman" saying Roll Tide. Saints should always walk what they talk. I might get my wish, I might not, but if I do I hope Tim doesn't cry like he did after losing to Mississippi. I don't like soggy wrapping paper.
Daniel, you are a fish swimming upstream, a skinny person at a Fat Camp, or a penny in a dish of quarters. I wish you all the best at the edge of the swamp. Stay proud!
Daniel has risked great bodily harm to express his Christmas wish, so all I want for Christmas is his two front teeth! I deserve it after after all the money we poured into braces.
i want nothing for Christmas.
Mrs. Brooks,
I wholeheartedly back you up!
Not even a sweet dream, Nathan?
After reading Daniel's post, I know exactly what I want for Christmas.
He says Gator fans are obnoxious, but that just means we're proud of our team, and aren't wishy-washy fans. I barely ever hear of an Alabama fan being all excited and proud for their team. I DESERVE to see Tim Tebow, along with all the other awesome GATORS, win this game because everyone can see that I'm proud of my team, and I want the world to know it, i'm not scared to be fan just in case they start doing bad.
Aaaahhh!!! Christmas already! Seems like just a few days ago it was Thanksgiving! (wait it was) Shows how much America is based on getting ready for Holidays. One holiday prep, the next throw the decorations out and get the next holiday stuff.
Anyways enough rambling..now onto the question xD
Well I don't even want much this Christmas..so I don't really want to be spoiled. Besides God already gave me the one thing I wanted and needed most; Himself! But if I could have anything it would be some sweet Cds and/or concert tickets!! I'm addict to music so I need as many Cds as earthy possible. Relient k, Family force 5 (they ROCKED on Nov. 14 by the way), Switchfoot, Casting crowns...wow I could sit here and list of bands I like for hours, But I'll stop for the sake of this whole answer of mine is probably boring. (as always) aaahhh I'm rambling again. Ok well I'm gonna stop before I keep going. OK BYE :P

It would be very nice getting what I wanted all year for christmas, but I enjoy giving gifts to my friends and family more than getting what I want. I like to see the look on my friends faces after searching hard for the perfect gift.
Amy, I take special interest all year long, listening for hints. Like you, I enjoy giving much more than receiving, in spite of my blog article.
Alyssa,
You will certainly be easy to buy for this Christmas. IOf anyone needs any hints, tell them to read your comment for ideas. I'm so glad God created music. It makes everything He does and is that much sweeter.
Let the blog rivalry begin, Shay. I knew someone would counter. Let's just say you both are true to your colors, win or loose and that makes both of you very loyal fans. I'll remind you on Christmas Day when you don't find anything under the tree with your name on it, that you sang this song: "All I want for Christmas is my team to win, my team to win, my team to win!"
TO SHAY:
1) You live an hour away from Gainesville not Tuscaloosa, and the Times Union is biased so you won't ever hear anything about Bama unless they play the Gators.
2) Do your homework on Bama fans' pre- and post-game exploits then try to tell me that we aren't as avid as Florida fans. Look up Bear Bryant while you're at it.
I absolutely love CHRISTmas! And like an excited little kid, I could list several items I want: new MP3 player, a laptop, books I badly want to read, and music in the form of CDs or Itunes. But, why would I deserve anything? Well...
(1) I'm not really expecting the MP3 player and laptop because they are quite expensive. Thus, I deserve them for keeping in mind my family's financial needs (and that just totally sounded like an oxymoron).
(2) I have been broke all year and have dealt with this dilemma cheerfully.
(3) Some of these items are actually needs. The laptop is needed for SCHOOL. The books can be used for SCHOOL. Music helps me during my SCHOOL. (Get it, Mom?)
And everything above this sentence absolutely does not matter (except for the CHRISTmas part) when it comes to what I am about to write next...
My dream Christmas present this year would be enough money for my whole church youth group to go on our first ski trip. Unfortunately, money is tight for all of us. Even if I did not get all the other things I wanted, this present would be the best because I could share it with all of my friends!
I have to agree with Daniel.
I loath the Gators. Always have, always will. Now I don't care for Alabama either, but a loss for the Gators is a win for Me.
All I want for Christmas is Call of Duty 5, Left 4 Dead, and a mini-fridge moved into my game room.
With these I would spend my entire Christmas vacation in my game room.
(Which is why I will probably not get the fridge.) But I will settle for The Dark Knight DVD, so that I can watch it while gaming.
Of course money is always a plus.
I haven't had that 'gimme all I want' mentality since I was little really, so I suppose it wouldn't take much to get everything on my 'list'. I already know what I'm getting for Christmas this year for the most part, because my older sister told me. xD Aren't siblings great? Yeah. Now, if the question is, do I deserve it? I believe that would be a question to ask my parents, not me.
-Alaina
Kyle,
As a Mom, I can honestly say that the more comfortable we make you guys in your techno den, surrounded by every game and DVD of your choosing, the less you come up for air. On the other side of that, if you can promise her you'll pace yourself, she might get you the fridge. After all, you deserve it.
Alaina, ask your parents? No way! From here until December 25th, your strategy will have to switch to brown nosing, favors and compliments, no matter what you think you deserve.
Alaina, I'm telling you, it works!
Tina,
First of all, I love the way you spell CHRISTmas. We all need to follow you in this.
Second, I hope your mom reads the blog and hear your honest plea for what would truly benefit you this year. On the other hand, I understand the financial issues we are all facing this year. Hopefully she can find you a good deal either on www.craigslist.com, eBay or www.geeks.com, where refurbs can be pretty cheap. Then there's always those great last-minute sales at Office Depot. Have I given her enough hints yet? (Pay me later.)
For christmas I want good grades in Movies as Lit. I dont quite deserve them but it would be awesome if I got them.
Since you're anonymous, I can most definitely give you an A++++++!
There is no Santa. !{
HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT! SANTA IS REAAAAAL!!!!
Daniel, what did you just say?
Okay, there is a Santa, but he's buried somewhere in Europe. Timmy Tebow killed him.
